Action for Blind People case study

Action for Blind People chose to use Progress back in 2003. As well as the functionality and reliability that Progress offered them they welcomed the commitment Fisk Brett had made to enhance Progress to be compatible with screen reading technology.

When asked to assess the success of the project, Ian Hunt, Database Marketing Manager said "The project involved various stages - planning, development, and testing, all of which ran smoothly. "Fisk Brett took on board all the suggestions we made and were extremely helpful and willing to enhance Progress to be able to be used by visually impaired users."

Aquila Way

Like many early social work initiatives in the United Kingdom, Aquila Way was born out of a passion of young Christians to help homeless young people in the Northeast of England.

Aquila Way's Chief Executive Jo Grant said "As we grow, we recognised the need to manage our increasing number of contacts. We had all those involved with our projects, those people we help, our supporters and donors, volunteers, business partners and more."

The charity selected ProgressCRM not only to organise their contacts, but also to provide the central database for all the fundraising and financial management.

Business Process Consultancy

As part of the services provided to customers under their SLA (service level agreement) Fisk Brett is pleased to offer an occasional 'health check' of their organisation's processes. A free of charge initial review by their Account Manager will help to identify where improvements might be made, and Progress users can then choose to book a full Business Process Analysis.

Following the initial one-hour session, the full analysis would cover

  • Analysis of key areas of your business (for example the flow of money through the organisation from envelope opening to thanking)
  • Making detailed recommendations for streamlining approaches
  • Identification of potential savings (monetary and time).

It is almost certain that this alone would make the consultancy pay for itself!

In addition to talking with the database administrator, the Fisk Brett consultant would hope to spend time with managers and department heads to obtain an insight into what reporting and key business performance indicators are required; how information flows through the organisation and how knowledge is shared; and the organisation's future (and strategic) use of ProgressCRM. In many cases, this will lead to suggestions for significant ways to improve the way people work, leading to significant cost savings, improved efficiency, and increased income.

Centalise your contacts

What do you use Progress for? Just as your donor database? Or maybe only to help you run your membership schemes? Have you thought about expanding your use of Progress to encompass other departments? Many other customers have and find using one database for all their organisational needs extremely rewarding.

Clogs- Customer Communications Logging System- user guide

The 'Customer Communication Issue Logging System' - Clogs for short- is a well controlled procedure to provide fast and efficient response, and to ensure that the issue can be 'tracked back' in the future.

But its not only for support issues. Any communication between customers and Fisk Brett staff can be logged and tracked to a satisfactory outcome via Clogs. To access the online system, you will need to have a password. Please contact us for details.

Data encryption add-in

The Data Encryption add-in for Progress and ProgressCRM provides additional protection for the most sensitive data in your database.

ProgressCRM Data Encryption Add-in is designed to complement the standard ProgressCRM security by encrypting bank account and credit card numbers stored in the ProgressCRM database.

Key features of the Add-in

  • It encrypts all types of payment card data and bank account information for total security
  • Fisk Brett provides a get a 'key' to decrypt it (for example for use in confidential reports, BACS exports etc).
  • It is fully compatible with the ProgressCRM Payment Card Processing module.
  • The encryption is performed at SQL Server level to prevent access from other applications.
