The Chichester Cathedral Restoration & Development Trust was founded in 1980 to fund the restoration programme on the Cathedral, which started nearly 42 years ago.The Trust relies entirely on voluntary donations, and currently receives no funds from the Government or from English Heritage or the Heritage Lottery Fund. In order to complete the restoration programme, the Trust needs to raise £1,000 a day, every day!
"Chichester Cathedral Restoration & Development Trust holds fundraising events on a regular basis including the bi-annual festival of flowers event which attracts many thousands of visitors from across Sussex and further afield" said the Trust's Director Alison Godfrey. "We want to be able to manage our events using the central contacts database".
"We realise that purchasing a new CRM system will enable us to maximise our fundraising and streamline our processes" explained Alison. "To move forward in our fundraising and raise more income for the restoration programme, the Trust has selected the ProgressCRM database".
The core income of the Trust continues to be from regular standing orders linked to Gift Aid, donations from parishes, legacies, Charitable Trusts and occasionally commercial sponsorship. This all provides the foundation to its cash flow, and is vital to the Trust in its forward planning. But in an increasingly competitive fundraising arena, the Trust continues to rely on fundraising events.
"We are delighted that the Chichester Cathedral Restoration & Development Trust selected ProgressCRM" said Robin Fisk. "The main reason the Trust chose Progress was its ease of use, and it knew that, by building more meaningful relationships with their supporters, ProgressCRM would increase its income".
